The US Supreme Court has suspended orders requiring DOGE to respond to requests for access to public information

The U.S. Supreme Court intervened to protect the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from transparency demands, temporarily suspending lower court orders requiring the agency to respond to access to public information requests related to an ongoing lawsuit.

Friday's move buys time for the agency created by President Donald Trump through Executive Order 14158 on January 20, a sweeping initiative aimed at drastically reducing waste and holding overburdened federal bureaucracies accountable for their spending.

The executive order directed the agency to "implement the President's DOGE Agenda by modernizing federal technology and software to maximize government efficiency and productivity."
