House Speaker Mike Johnson warns that some Senate
Republicans could "unravel" President Donald Trump's "Great
Bill" by eliminating key measures that are directly important to the
president's agenda.
During an interview on CBS News' "Face the
Nation," Johnson also warned that the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate
could remove the measure in the House-passed bill that prevents activist judges
from issuing nationwide injunctions in all cases.
"Before you go, I want to ask you about another
provision included in this bill. Democrats say it's weakening the separation of
powers and punishing the courts. It's a specific provision that would restrict
a federal court's ability to execute contempt warrants unless there's a bond.
It sounds very superficial, but it's causing a lot of outrage. If this could be
eliminated in the Senate anyway, why did they bother including it?"
Brennan asked.
