In recent weeks, things appear to have worsened for House
Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) after she suffered a fall in Europe
and underwent emergency hip replacement surgery.
A week ago, Pelosi was seen using a walker on the House
floor while recovering from her accident. Now, a far-left former staffer for
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is running against her in the primaries,
according to a report published Thursday.
Saikat Chakrabarti, AOC's former chief of staff, announced
Wednesday that he would run against Pelosi in the primaries. Politico reported
that he was running because the former speaker tried to prevent the progressive
New York congresswoman from becoming the top Democrat on the House Oversight
Committee.
