Two former prosecutors who accused and persecuted January 6th participants confess their intentions

Two former prosecutors who charged and prosecuted those who participated in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol are now confessing their true intentions.

During a hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee, the disgraced attorneys admitted to jailing Americans for minor offenses.

Mike Romano, a former federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Public Integrity Section, testified last week at a hearing on January 6, declaring himself "proud" of the cases he oversaw, in which individuals present at the Capitol were jailed.

"Thanks to the work of our team, the Department of Justice charged more than 1,500 people with crimes and obtained criminal convictions for nearly 1,300," Romano stated. "We ensured that the rioters were held accountable, however briefly. Our work created a public record of the crimes committed that day."
