WASHINGTON—The Trump administration launched America.gov on Tuesday, a new digital platform designed to become a single point of access to federal government information and services using artificial intelligence technology, dubbed “Super Intelligence” (SI) by the White House.
The portal currently allows citizens to conduct searches in
natural language and obtain information from thousands of government websites.
The administration plans to expand its functionality so users can directly
complete various procedures, including passport renewals and Medicare
enrollment.
The White House maintains that America.gov aims to reduce
the need to navigate multiple agencies and official websites to complete
government transactions.
In the United States, the procedures for legally changing
one's name largely depend on state laws. After a marriage, the corresponding
certificate can be used to update records with agencies such as the Social
Security Administration, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and other departments.
The Trump administration has unveiled America.gov as part of
an effort to modernize the relationship between citizens and the federal
government, with the expectation of progressively incorporating more digital
services into the platform.
