President Donald Trump countered leftist criticism of the US economy's performance and urged people not to be swayed by pessimistic forecasts ahead of the midterm elections.

Don't Believe the Economic Doomsayers,” which analyzes some of the main
economic indicators and warnings about a possible slowdown.
Trump
maintained that several of the negative predictions about the economy's
direction have not materialized and highlighted indicators that his
administration shows a favorable evolution of economic activity and income.
The
president also defended his policies on trade, employment, and government
spending against those who warn of potential adverse effects.
The
