WASHINGTON—Reports in independent media outlets indicate
that actor and director Mel Gibson is preparing for a possible appearance
before the U.S. Congress regarding political figures in California, including
Governor Gavin Newsom, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and former
Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to these publications, Gibson plans to present
information that, according to his own statements, relates to alleged
irregularities in political and Hollywood circles.
The same reports claim that the actor has held conversations
with President Donald Trump before a possible testimony before lawmakers.
However, the date of the congressional hearing in which
Gibson is to appear has not yet been announced. Official documentation
confirming his subpoena as a witness in connection with Newsom, Pelosi, or
Harris could be released soon.
The reports come primarily from online publications and social
media posts, supported by a video Gibson himself posted on social media.
Therefore, the aforementioned accusations have been met with attempts to
discredit them, but we will likely see them before Congress, wrote commentator
Adrian Roguello.
For now, the claim about Mel Gibson's upcoming testimony
before Congress should be treated as a report awaiting official confirmation.
