TEHRAN—Iran's Supreme Leader, Mukhtaba Khamenei, asserted
that the United States will eventually withdraw from the Middle East, arguing
that the US military presence in the region faces increasing difficulties.
In remarks broadcast on Iranian state television, Khamenei
stated that Washington has suffered significant setbacks and noted that its
forces are already facing limitations in operating beyond the Arabian Sea.
The Iranian leader maintained that, eventually, the US
presence will also disappear from the region, presenting this scenario as a
consequence of the ongoing confrontation between Tehran and Washington.
The statements come amid tensions between Iran, the United
States, and Israel, and as diplomatic efforts continue to find a solution to
the conflict. One of the main points of international concern is the Strait of
Hormuz, a strategic route for the global transport of oil and gas.
For now, Khamenei's statements represent the position of the
Iranian government and do not signify that the United States has announced a
withdrawal of its forces from the Middle East.
