More than 20 people may be missing after flash flooding at
the Grand Canyon, the U.S. National Park Service reported.
Authorities are conducting a search and rescue operation
while they continue to assess the situation and try to determine the exact
number of people affected.
The incident occurred after strong currents of water
surprised visitors in the area, creating dangerous conditions and hampering
rescue efforts.
The National Park Service urged caution while emergency
operations continue and additional information is gathered about possible
missing persons.
