Man Arrested in Seattle Accused of Plotting Attack on Washington Governor

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Seattle man was arrested by authorities after being accused of plotting to attack Washington Governor Bob Ferguson, as well as his bodyguards and staff members.

According to information published by The Post Millennial, the suspect traveled to Olympia, Washington, and conducted surveillance near the governor's residence to study security measures.

The accusation alleges that the man planned to assassinate the governor and attack any agents or staff members who tried to stop him.

Authorities are investigating the details of the alleged plot and the actions the suspect allegedly took before his arrest. The case has once again raised concerns about the safety of public officials and potential threats against state authorities.

To date, authorities have not publicly released all the details of the investigation or the full extent of the charges the suspect will face. Governor Bob Ferguson, a Democrat, took office as governor of Washington in January 2025, after having served as the state's attorney general.
