Ronald Johnson Highlights Cooperation Between Mexico and the United States Against Fentanyl Trafficking

MEXICO CITY—The United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, highlighted the cooperation between the two countries in combating fentanyl trafficking and asserted that the exchange of information has enabled concrete actions against criminal organizations.

Through his social media accounts, Johnson stated that more than 4 million potentially deadly doses of fentanyl were kept off the streets as a result of actions stemming from information shared between Mexican and U.S. authorities.

“Shared information becomes action,” the diplomat noted, presenting the outcome as an example of bilateral cooperation focused on results.

Johnson maintained that the exchange of information, the actions of the authorities, and the pressure on the cartels are part of a joint strategy to combat drug trafficking and protect families in both countries.

The ambassador also highlighted the relationship between US President Donald Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, noting that both governments are fostering a partnership based on cooperation to address security challenges.

“Shared information becomes action. More than 4 million potentially deadly doses of fentanyl kept off our streets and away from our families 🇺🇸🇲🇽. This is what results-driven cooperation looks like: sharing information, acting on it, and putting real pressure on the cartels. That is the partnership that @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and President @ClaudiaShein are promoting,” the ambassador wrote.

The message was accompanied by the flags of Mexico and the United States and the hashtag #JuntosLogramosMás (TogetherWeAchieveMore), with which Johnson emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination between the two countries.
