FBI Director Travels to China to Discuss Security and Combat Fentanyl

The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, visited Beijing for high-level meetings with Chinese security officials, marking the first visit by an FBI director to China since 2016.

During the meetings, discussions focused on combating the trafficking of chemical precursors used in fentanyl production, as well as cooperation in addressing cybercrime and transnational criminal networks.

The visit is part of the two countries' efforts to maintain channels of dialogue on security issues, despite persistent differences in other areas of their bilateral relationship.
