US President Donald Trump delivered a powerful message
warning of what he considers the risk communism poses to the future of his
country, asserting that this ideology constitutes a threat of a magnitude
comparable to, and even greater than, some of the most tragic episodes in
American history.
During his address, Trump stated that the United States
faces a challenge that, in his view, surpasses events such as World War I and
World War II, the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The president maintained that once a communist system manages to establish
itself in a nation, it is extremely difficult to reverse its effects.
In his message, the president pointed out that the main
danger of communism lies in the fact that it gradually erodes individual
freedoms, weakens democratic institutions, and concentrates state power,
affecting fundamental rights such as freedom of expression, private property,
and free political participation.
Trump reiterated that his administration will maintain a
firm stance against any doctrine that, from his perspective, jeopardizes the
principles upon which the United States was founded. He also insisted that the
United States must not allow the advancement of political models that limit the
freedom of its citizens or reduce national sovereignty.
