The U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly to pass a key law to
boost the nation's nuclear energy sector.
The bill passed 88-2, with Senators Ed Markey
(D-Massachusetts) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) opposing the bill. The nuclear
package was combined with another bill reauthorizing the U.S. Fire
Administration and firefighter grant programs. This combined package will also
reach the president's desk.
"We will benefit from having more tools at our disposal
to address the climate crisis, with the urgency that the moment demands,"
Zaidi added.
