A Wisconsin judge is threatening to halt court proceedings
in protest of the arrest of her fellow state judge, Hannah Dugan, by federal
authorities last week, according to reports.
Judge Monica Isham made it clear in an email to judges
across the state on Saturday, titled "I Request Guidance or Refuse to Hold
Trial," that she has no intention of cooperating with Immigration and
Customs Enforcement (ICE).
"If we do not receive guidance or support, I will
refuse to hold the trial in Section 2 of Sawyer County. I will not endanger
myself or my staff, who might feel compelled to assist me or my
community," Isham wrote, according to a copy of the email obtained by
Wisconsin Right Now.
