Intelligence community officials are facing criminal charges for alleged leaks of classified information

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has referred two intelligence community officials to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution for alleged leaks of classified information, according to a report released Wednesday.

According to an ODNI official, the individuals are accused of leaking sensitive information to the Washington Post and the New York Times. A third criminal referral is reportedly on its way to the Department of Justice, Fox News Digital exclusively reported.

The official stated that other officials and members of the intelligence community should take the criminal referral for leaks as a warning.

“The politicization of our intelligence and the leaking of classified information put our nation’s security at risk and must stop,” Gabbard told Fox News Digital. “Those who leak classified information will be found and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
