Iran Denies Missile Launches Toward Turkey

Iran's diplomatic mission in the Turkish capital issued a statement categorically rejecting reports of a ballistic missile attack targeting Turkish territory. In the statement, released from its embassy in Ankara, Iranian authorities asserted that such claims are baseless and do not correspond to reality.

In the official statement, the diplomatic mission emphasized that no munitions or weapons have been launched from Iranian territory toward Turkey. This statement aimed to dispel speculation circulating in various media outlets and reaffirm the Iranian government's stance toward its regional neighbor.

Furthermore, the embassy emphasized that Iran's foreign policy is based on respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of other states. In particular, it highlighted that Turkey is considered by Tehran to be a friendly country and a regional partner with which it shares significant historical, political, and economic ties.

The statement can also be interpreted as an attempt to avoid diplomatic tensions in a complex regional context, where any accusation related to military attacks or armed movements could generate concern and affect political stability. By reiterating their respect for Turkey, Iranian authorities sought to reaffirm their willingness to maintain relations based on dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect between the two neighboring nations.
