Hunter Biden on Wednesday asked a federal judge to dismiss
his lawsuit against a former Trump aide, related to the disclosure of
information from a laptop believed to belong to former President Joe Biden's
son. Hunter Biden claimed his limited resources make it difficult to continue
the case.
In documents submitted to a California federal court,
Biden's lawyers asked U.S. District Judge Hernan D. Vera to dismiss the 2023
lawsuit against Garrett Ziegler. They stated that Biden's income "has
significantly decreased" and that he owed a large amount of money
(millions of dollars).
Biden's lawyers claimed that the Pacific Palisades wildfires
further exacerbated his financial problems, rendering his rental home
"uninhabitable for an extended period."
They wrote that Biden "has had difficulty finding a new
permanent place to live, as well as making a living." They also said Biden
should use his time and resources to deal with his move, the damage to his
rental home, and his family's living costs, "instead of this
litigation."
