MEXICO: Sheinbaum's administration intends to shut down social media in the country, and Senator Lilly Téllez reacts

"...It is your obligation to listen to criticism, not silence it and try to take away radio and television licenses and try to shut down and eliminate social media in our country," said Senator Lilly Téllez, referring to yet another stretching of the anti-democratic string that the so-called 4T governments are carrying out to the detriment of Mexicans.

"Remain calm because what you are proposing, what your MORENA senators are currently discussing, is an attempt at censorship... I find it very strange that if President Sheinbaum claims to have 80% recognition and popularity, why then does President Sheinbaum intend to take away radio and television licenses under the pretext of national security? And why does she intend to shut down digital information platforms and social media?" If you say you have 80% approval ratings, why are you so afraid of freedom of expression? Is it because you are lying? Could it be because President Sheinbaum is already so afraid that the media, in all its forms, continues to talk about the reality of our country and that this directly affects MORENA?

The increasingly abundant criticism of the federal government, the national legislature, local legislatures, state, and municipal governments under the 4T (Tourist Party) is spilling over primarily on social media, with a user reach of 77.2% of the country's total population, spaces where criticism of the 4T (Tourist Party) governments and legislators prevails.

114.3 million people in Mexico use social media. According to a conservative estimate, the share of residents of the Latin American country includes those between the ages of 18 and 34, with a growing 87% of critics of the ruling party, which calls into question the percentages of approval of the 4T (Tourist Party) disseminated from the National Palace.

Senator Lilly Téllez, considered the legislator who truly defends the rights of Mexicans, was vociferous in a press conference at the Senate of the Republic, where she highlighted the multi-million dollar investment that the Presidency is providing so that her deceptions, she said, have the fullest reach and reach Mexicans who no longer believe her: "And she also wants to end the platforms to which Mexicans have the right," she said, insisting on the suspicion that remains of the president who presents this new law, even assuring that it has an 80% acceptance rate among Mexicans. /E.ESGLOTAC
