The husband of the Biden-appointed judge ruled earlier this
week that federal immigration agents must obtain individual arrest warrants for
all suspected undocumented immigrants before detaining them, but the reason for
that decision has now been revealed.
It turns out the judge has a financial interest in halting
President Donald Trump's mass deportations, according to a new report.
Independent journalist Laura Loomer, in a lengthy post on X,
wrote that the husband of U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston, who
recently ruled that the Trump administration cannot arrest more undocumented
immigrants without a warrant, is a multi-family real estate agent in
California.
This wouldn't seem surprising, if the journalist didn't add
that Marc A. Thurston works primarily with the undocumented immigrant community
and has posted on Instagram criticizing Trump's mass deportation and
immigration policies, calling them harmful to multi-family real estate agents
and investors.
“This is a massive conflict of interest that calls into
question Judge Thurston’s issuance of a preliminary injunction on April 29,
2025, prohibiting the U.S. Border Patrol from conducting warrantless
immigration arrests across a broad swath of California,” Loomer wrote.
