Supporters of the US president began arriving several hours early at the Mitchell Center, where a campaign event is being held this Friday ahead of the midterm elections.
MOBILE, Alabama—A long line of supporters began gathering
this Friday near the Mitchell Center at the University of South Alabama,
awaiting the rally led by President Donald Trump.
The event is part of Trump's tour of various states leading
up to the November midterm elections. In Mobile, the president seeks to endorse
Republican candidates and mobilize his supporters.
The doors of the venue were scheduled to open in the
afternoon, while the event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. The event is
free, although prior registration is required.
Among those who attended were people carrying American
flags, hats, and items related to Trump, while some chanted slogans in support
of the president.
Mobile also holds particular significance for Trump: in
2015, he held one of his first major public rallies there, before a crowd
estimated at around 30,000 people.
This Friday, almost a decade later, the president returned
to the city as part of his strategy to keep the Republican base mobilized
before the November elections.
