WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance announced the permanent suspension of approximately 870,000 people linked to fraud cases involving millions of dollars, which would prevent them from accessing certain federal loans.
During the announcement, the official stated that the measure aims to prevent those who have defrauded American taxpayers from continuing to benefit from public resources.
“If you defrauded the American taxpayer, the federal government will bar you from accessing them. It’s over,” the vice president declared, presenting the measure as part of a strategy to strengthen the protection of public funds.
The provision is part of the actions announced by the U.S. government to combat fraud and establish restrictions on access to federally funded programs.
The measure, identified as “Rapid Response 47,” would affect hundreds of thousands of people and could represent one of the largest blocks to access to federal financing programs related to fraud investigations.
