Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton has once
again questioned the high price of gasoline in California, pointing to the cost
difference across the border into Arizona.
Hilton stated that in some areas of Arizona, fuel can cost
around $2 less per gallon than in California, even though both states are
located in an oil-producing region.
The Republican attributed part of the difference to taxes
and regulations in California and criticized the policies implemented in
Sacramento.
"Enough with the taxes and regulations!" declared
Hilton, who asserted that, if elected, he would seek to implement measures to
bring the price of gasoline down to approximately $3 per gallon in various
communities across California.
His statements are part of his economic and energy platform
for the state, which focuses on reducing the costs faced by drivers and modifying
policies that drive up fuel prices.
