The measure aims to lower costs for consumers and allow for greater investment to ensure a stable supply.
The United States government assured that electricity bills
for consumers will decrease, while generating companies will be able to
allocate more resources to strengthening the electrical infrastructure.
According to the statement, the goal is for companies in the
sector to invest in the electrical grid and in mechanisms to guarantee its
stability, so that the supply remains available when it is most needed.
The proposal also aims to ensure service for essential
sectors such as hospitals, businesses, and homes, especially during periods of
peak energy demand.
"When people need the lights to stay on, so be it, and
electricity will be available when it is most needed for businesses, hospitals,
and families across the country," it stated.
Authorities maintain that greater investment in
infrastructure will result in a more reliable electrical grid, better prepared
to meet the needs of consumers and productive activities.
