Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that a meeting
between the presidents of the United States, Donald Trump; Russia, Vladimir
Putin; and Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, would be the only way to finalize the
agreements necessary to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Peskov maintained that negotiations between the parties must
progress until they reach the points necessary to finalize a potential peace
agreement, but he considered that a definitive conclusion would require a
direct meeting between the three leaders.
The proposal envisions a high-level negotiation scenario in
which Trump, Putin, and Zelensky could directly address the main outstanding
issues of the conflict and seek a formula to end hostilities.
The Kremlin's statements come amid diplomatic efforts to
find a way out of the conflict and establish the conditions for reaching a
lasting agreement.
