U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the State
Department is preparing to publish an official report that, he stated, will
document the relationship the Cuban government, led for decades by the Castro
family, allegedly maintained with leftist movements and groups considered
extremist within the United States.
According to Rubio, the document will compile historical
information and analytical elements on what he described as an influence
strategy pursued by the Cuban regime over several decades. The official
indicated that the report will seek to expose the alleged links between the
communist leadership of Cuba and various expressions of political activism and
leftist organizations in the United States.
Although the Secretary of State did not specify a
publication date or reveal the document's specific content, he indicated that
the objective is to offer a detailed overview of the actions that, from the
perspective of the U.S. government, have contributed to promoting processes of
political and ideological agitation in the country.
The announcement comes amid renewed scrutiny of the Cuban
government by the U.S. administration and is part of a broader foreign policy
strategy focused on reviewing the activities and international influence of the
Havana regime.
