Complaints against Instagram grow over permanent suspensions of legitimate accounts

A growing wave of users is expressing their dissatisfaction with Instagram's recent decisions, after numerous accounts were permanently suspended under circumstances many consider unjustified. Among those affected are content creators, public figures, entrepreneurs, and celebrities who claim to have lost access to profiles built over years of activity on the platform.

Complaints have multiplied on social media and specialized forums, where users assert that the suspensions were carried out without clear explanations or effective opportunities to appeal the decisions. Many claim to have received automated notifications indicating alleged violations of the platform's policies, although they maintain they never engaged in conduct that would justify such a severe sanction.

One of the reported cases involves a user with a community of thousands of followers, who stated that Meta determined their profile was fake or inauthentic. However, according to his testimony, the account had remained active for approximately eight or nine years, regularly posting content and building a legitimate audience over time.

The affected user stated that the decision was particularly baffling because he had never faced serious sanctions or prior warnings related to the authenticity of his identity. Like him, other users claim to have been mislabeled by automated moderation systems, which would have resulted in permanent blocks that are difficult to reverse.

The situation has raised questions about the functioning of Meta's review mechanisms, especially in cases where decisions appear to be based on automated processes.
