A group of patients diagnosed with endometriosis in New York
City has launched a public appeal to President Donald Trump to intervene and
halt the extradition of Dr. Kanayama, a Japanese citizen and legal permanent
resident of the United States. The doctor, who has practiced in Manhattan for
nearly 30 years, faces vandalism charges that his supporters say are unfounded.
Patients who support the specialist say his work has been fundamental
in treating a complex and painful disease that often requires highly
specialized care. They point out that the doctor has provided continuous
medical support and that his potential removal from the country would leave
many women without access to a professional with extensive experience in
managing this condition.
According to his supporters, the legal proceedings against
him are based on allegations they consider unjust. His associates maintain that
the accusations do not reflect his professional record or his personal conduct
throughout decades of medical practice in New York.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kanayama is described
as a practicing Christian and founder of International Marketplace Ministry, an
organization focused on fostering a personal relationship with God through
daily prayer and integrating faith into the workplace. His supporters argue
that his spiritual and community commitment is an essential part of his
identity and that the community would lose not only an experienced physician
but also an active spiritual leader.
The case has generated debate in both medical and religious
circles, while authorities await a final decision on the extradition process.
