The National Association of Truckers (ANTAC) carried out a
series of blockades on various highways across the country on Monday, November
24, causing prolonged traffic disruptions. After more than ten hours of disruption,
the protesters began removing the blockades and allowing the roads to gradually
reopen.
Federal Roads and Bridges (CAPUFE) reported that, in several
sections, the truckers who had been blocking access roads and highways began to
withdraw, and urged the public to take into account adjustments and variations
in traffic flow while normal circulation is restored.
The agency also reported intermittent closures on various
highways throughout the country as part of the mobilizations called not only by
ANTAC, but also by the Agricultural and Peasant Movement (MAC) and the National
Front for the Rescue of the Countryside. According to reports, the blockades
began at approximately 8:00 a.m. in various parts of the country and continued
throughout the day.
