Ed Martin, the Justice Department's new pardons attorney and
head of the Justice Department's Weaponization Task Force, announced last week
that he is investigating the questionable use of the presidential autopen to
grant pardons during the final days of the Biden administration.
However, Martin revealed on Tuesday that his investigation
began weeks earlier, while he was still serving as acting U.S. attorney for the
District of Columbia, The Blaze reports.
Martin confirmed that the investigation into the use of the
autopen has been ongoing for some time, that he has contacted members of the
Biden family, that several people of interest have retained legal assistance,
and that a whistleblower has already come forward with serious allegations.
