Kash Patel Accuses Biden Administration of Failing Immigration Controls After Attack on National Guard Members

Federal official Kash Patel leveled harsh criticism against President Joe Biden's administration, blaming it—in his own assessment—for oversights in background checks that, in his opinion, contributed to the circumstances surrounding the shooting in which two National Guard members were wounded.

During an interview, a reporter questioned whether authorities overlooked red flags both in the alleged assailant's asylum process and in his previous employment with government agencies. In response, Patel asserted that the problem lies in the absence of adequate vetting procedures.

According to his statement, “all the warning signs are missed when there is no verification process in place.” He added that, in his opinion, allowing thousands of people to enter the country without thorough vetting creates vulnerabilities that can trigger serious incidents. Patel argued that immigration decisions have created gaps that compromise security and hinder the identification of potential risks.

His comments have reignited the political debate in the United States regarding border control protocols, the efficiency of asylum systems, and the need to strengthen background checks for those entering the country, especially in highly sensitive national security contexts.
