Secretary of War Pete Hegseth reported: "Yesterday, at
the direction of President Trump, the War Department conducted a lethal kinetic
attack against a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization and
engaged in narcotics trafficking in the Eastern Pacific.
Our intelligence indicated the vessel was involved in
illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting a known narcotics transit route,
and was transporting narcotics. There were two narco-terrorists on board during
the attack, which took place in international waters. Both terrorists were
killed, and no U.S. forces were injured in this attack.
Narco-terrorists seeking to bring poison to our shores will
find no safe haven anywhere in our hemisphere. Just as al-Qaeda declared war on
our homeland, these cartels are waging war on our border and our people. There
will be no safe haven, no forgiveness, only justice."
