"Zero tolerance" for violence against law enforcement in Texas, the Trump administration's stance

The Trump administration has pledged a "zero tolerance" stance toward violence against law enforcement following the shooting of a local police officer near an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Texas on Friday.

"We are closely monitoring the attacks on DHS detention facilities in Prairieland, Texas, and Portland, Oregon, and are coordinating with the U.S. Attorney General and our law enforcement partners," Assistant Attorney General Todd Blance posted on social media on Saturday.

"The Department has zero tolerance for attacks on federal officers or property and will pursue the full force of the law against those responsible," he added.
