The United States and the United Kingdom signed "a deal that is fair to both of us," President Trump said

President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Monday the signing of a trade agreement aimed at reducing tariffs on imports from the United Kingdom's automotive and aerospace industries, although negotiations on steel production are ongoing.

The leaders spoke to reporters at the Group of Seven summit in the Canadian Rockies, where Trump delayed what he described as the long-awaited deal. However, the implementation was somewhat uneven: Trump mistakenly referred to an agreement with the European Union before correcting himself by saying he was referring to the United Kingdom.

Nevertheless, the president insisted that the pact is "a fair deal for both of us" and "will generate a lot of jobs and a lot of revenue." He added, "We just signed it, and it's done."
