President Donald Trump continues to play games with the
Canadian government, now headed by another leftist, Mark Carney, who has tried
unsuccessfully to threaten its southern neighbor.
Now, Trump has announced an additional 25% tariff on
Canadian steel and aluminum imports, bringing the total to 50%.
For now, the Ontario government has measuredly decided not
to continue with high tariffs against the United States and instead await the best
course of action: negotiation.
It has been circulated that President Trump has made an offer to Canada to eliminate tariffs completely: becoming the 51st state of the United States. This, independent analysts say, undoubtedly corresponds to continuing to play to the mood of the country's Prime Minister.
