WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump again defended the electoral strength of the MAGA movement and asserted that polls have consistently underestimated the support it enjoys among American voters.
In his remarks, Trump maintained that the surveys have
failed to accurately reflect the support his movement receives and recalled the
results obtained in the 2014 elections. The president claimed he won all seven
key states, in addition to the popular vote, and highlighted his performance in
the counties and in the primaries.
Trump also insisted that his presence on the ballot is a
determining factor for Republicans. His message seeks to reinforce the idea
that support for him can once again translate into votes for his party's
candidates in the upcoming elections.
This interpretation was echoed by political strategist Dick
Morris, who noted the apparent stability of Trump's approval ratings in the
polls conducted by McLaughlin.
Morris also drew a comparison between Trump's current
approval rating and his result in the 2024 presidential election. According to
his argument, Trump received 49.8% of the popular vote, while a recent
McLaughlin poll would place his approval rating at around 49%.
