Trump Orders Immediate Release of All FBI Files on Crossfire Hurricane Investigation

Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump announced that he has ordered the immediate release of all FBI files related to Crossfire Hurricane, the investigation that examined alleged ties between his 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.

The decision seeks to make public documents related to one of the most controversial investigations in recent years in American politics, known as Crossfire Hurricane, an inquiry initiated by the FBI during the 2016 election campaign.

Trump and his allies have maintained for years that the investigation into alleged “Russian collusion” was used as a political tool against him and have demanded the declassification and publication of documents related to the case.

With the new order, the FBI intends to make available the files related to the origin, development, and actions taken during the investigation.

Crossfire Hurricane became the starting point of a protracted political controversy that included federal investigations and accusations of possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and alleged contacts between individuals linked to the Trump campaign and Russian representatives.

The release of the documents could once again place the actions of the FBI and other intelligence agencies under public scrutiny during one of the most contentious political and judicial episodes in recent U.S. history.
