WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Capitol Police arrested a driver
after discovering a guillotine in the bed of his pickup truck, an incident that
prompted a police response near the legislative complex.
According to initial reports, officers spotted the vehicle
and, during an inspection, found the metal structure, which appeared to be a
guillotine, among the items being transported.
The presence of the device prompted a security response, and
the driver was detained while an investigation was conducted to determine why
he was carrying the object.
Authorities are investigating the case and assessing whether
the guillotine posed a security risk to the Capitol or was related to any
specific threat.
The incident occurred in an area considered high-security
due to the presence of the U.S. Congress and federal officials, so any
potentially dangerous object can trigger special security protocols.
So far, authorities
