President Donald Trump celebrated the results of the primary elections held on September 8 in New Hampshire and highlighted the performance of the Republican candidates he supports.
Through Truth Social, Trump shared a post summarizing the day with the message: “2 wins for President Trump, 0 losses,” referring to the results obtained by candidates backed by his movement.
Among the victories was that of former Senator John Sununu, who won the Republican nomination to run again for a Senate seat. Sununu obtained approximately 69% of the vote against former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown.
Anthony DiLorenzo also won the Republican nomination for the House of Representatives and will compete for the seat currently held by Democrat Chris Pappas. Pappas, for his part, won the Democratic primary for Senate and will face Sununu in November.
The results make New Hampshire one of the states that could be decisive in the fight for control of the Senate and the House of Representatives during the November 3 general election.
The day also represents an initial test of Trump's political strength among Republican voters in the lead-up to the midterm elections.
