Dubai — The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the attack it attributed to Iran on two vessels linked to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) as they transited the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
The Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the
incident as an act of piracy and warned that such aggression poses a threat to
regional stability, freedom of navigation, and global energy security.
According to UAE authorities, the two vessels were attacked
while transiting the strait. No injuries were reported, and the situation was
brought under control, although full details regarding the damage or the cargo
the vessels were carrying have not been released.
The incident comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and
the United States and a significant reduction in maritime traffic through the
Strait of Hormuz, a major international shipping route for oil and gas. The
United Arab Emirates demanded an end to Iranian attacks on commercial vessels
and reiterated the need to guarantee safe navigation along this waterway, whose
operation has direct repercussions for international energy markets.
To date, Iran has not officially responded to the UAE's
accusations regarding these attacks.
