Iran's Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi issued a strong message to
those who have collaborated with the Islamic Republic, warning that those who
have participated in acts of corruption, abuse, or violations of citizens'
rights will be held accountable for their actions when a political change occurs
in the country.
In a public statement, Pahlavi asserted that the era of
impunity for officials, informants, and individuals linked to the current
regime is coming to an end. In his message, he maintained that any eventual
political transition process must be accompanied by justice mechanisms that
allow for the clarification of alleged abuses committed during decades of the
Islamic Republic's rule.
"Their days of impunity are numbered," declared
the Iranian opposition leader, who for years has advocated for a political system
change in Iran through a transition leading to a government based on the
principles of democracy, the rule of law, and respect for fundamental freedoms.
Pahlavi also expressed his confidence that the country will
be able to embark on a new era of stability, development, and prosperity once
the current model of government ends. In this regard, he reiterated his vision
of an Iran open to the world, with democratic institutions and an economy
capable of providing greater opportunities for its people.
The crown prince's remarks come amid persistent political
and economic tension within Iran, where various sectors of the opposition
continue to question the actions of the authorities, while the government faces
internal pressures stemming from the economic situation and social discontent,
in addition to a complex international landscape.
