An unusual situation caused alarm in a Texas neighborhood after approximately two million bees were released following a road accident. According to local authorities, an 18-wheeler carrying hundreds of beehives overturned while traveling on a road near a residential area.
The accident caused numerous beehives to break or become
detached from the vehicle, allowing a huge number of bees to escape and scatter
throughout the surrounding area. Given the risk of mass stings, emergency teams
and beekeeping specialists arrived at the scene to control the situation and
prevent the insects from posing a danger to residents.
Authorities advised residents to stay indoors, keep doors
and windows closed, and avoid the affected area while the beehives were being
recovered. Experts worked for several hours to gather the bees and re-establish
the colonies, aiming to minimize losses and ensure the safety of the community.
The incident drew attention due to the sheer size of the
swarm released; it is estimated that around two million bees were traveling in
the vehicle at the time of the accident. Fortunately, coordinated efforts between
emergency services and beekeepers allowed them to gradually bring the situation
under control and reduce risks to the population.
