Trump lashes out at journalists for leak about missing pilot after Iran incident

US President Donald Trump issued strong warnings to journalists and media outlets that disseminated information related to the disappearance of a second pilot after the downing of a US fighter jet in Iran last Friday.

According to reports, journalist Amit Segal admitted via his Telegram channel to being the first to report the existence of a second missing pilot. The revelation reportedly circulated rapidly, generating repercussions in both the media and political spheres.

Trump maintains that the early dissemination of this sensitive information compromised the security of the operation by allegedly alerting Iranian authorities to the situation. This supposedly led to actors within Iran offering rewards for the pilot's capture, significantly increasing the risk to his safety. In this context, the President raised the possibility of taking legal action against those who leaked the information, including the option of imprisonment, which has ignited a debate about the limits between national security and freedom of the press, which should not cross the line into security.

The episode highlights the complex relationship between information management in conflict situations and the role of the media, in an environment where the speed of digital communication can have direct consequences on the unfolding of events in real time.
