The Prime Minister of Pakistan publicly declared a
significant breakthrough in de-escalating the international conflict by
announcing that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America,
along with their respective allies, have reached a ceasefire agreement with
immediate effect.
In his message, the Prime Minister stated: “I am pleased to
announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America,
along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere,
including Lebanon and other locations, with immediate effect.” This declaration
suggests a widespread cessation of hostilities on multiple fronts, representing
a significant step toward stabilizing the region.
The agreement would encompass not only the points of direct
tension between the two powers but also related areas such as Lebanon, where
the situation had generated growing international concern. The inclusion of
“other locations” in the announcement indicates that the ceasefire would have a
broad scope, possibly extending to various conflict-affected areas.
This development comes amid recent diplomatic efforts,
including Iran's initiative to guarantee the security of maritime traffic in
the Strait of Hormuz and the opening of channels of dialogue with the United
States. Pakistan's selection as host and mediator reinforces its role as a key
player in facilitating negotiations between the parties involved.
