Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warned that the
escalating tensions in the Middle East are already having visible effects
beyond its immediate borders, particularly on the European continent. According
to his assessment, the consequences of the conflict are not limited to the
military or political spheres, but are beginning to manifest themselves in an
economic and energy weakening of Europe.
The president emphasized that volatility in energy prices,
along with market uncertainty, is putting pressure on European economies,
highlighting global interdependence in energy supply. In this context, he
insisted that a prolonged conflict could deepen these effects and create a
scenario of greater international instability.
Given this situation, Erdoğan called for prioritizing
diplomatic solutions, stressing the need to adopt approaches focused on
dialogue, de-escalation, and the pursuit of sustainable agreements. He also
expressed his country's willingness to assume an active role as a mediator,
leveraging its strategic position and its ties with both regional and
international actors.
The Turkish leader's stance aims to reposition his nation as
a key interlocutor in conflict resolution, while simultaneously warning of the
rising costs of confrontation and the urgent need to move toward negotiation
mechanisms that prevent further deterioration of global stability.
