Bryan Betancur, publicly identified as a white supremacist
and member of the far-right group Proud Boys, was arrested again after facing
charges of physical assault. Authorities reported that his arrest occurred
shortly after he left a courthouse.
Betancur had also previously been linked to the January 6
United States Capitol attack, an incident for which several participants were
prosecuted and some received pardons in subsequent related trials.
According to reports, the new charge alleges that Betancur
secretly recorded himself approaching women in public spaces and touching their
hair without their consent. This behavior was reportedly documented on video,
which led authorities to launch an investigation and subsequently file charges
against him.
After appearing in court on these charges, Betancur was
arrested by authorities as soon as he left the courtroom. The arrest was made
in compliance with legal procedures related to the alleged assault case. The
legal process continues, while the authorities review the evidence and determine
the corresponding responsibilities regarding the accusations presented.
