FBI Warns California Law Enforcement of Potential Drone Threat from Iran

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warning to various police departments in California regarding the possibility that Iran could attempt retaliatory actions against the United States using offensive drones targeting the West Coast.

According to the security advisory, federal authorities urged local and state law enforcement agencies to increase vigilance and remain alert for any unusual activity involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The alert falls under the prevention protocols that security agencies implement when there is information or risk assessments related to potential threats against U.S. territory.

The document warns that, in a scenario of escalating international tensions, the use of drones could become a tool for attack or intimidation due to their ability to travel long distances and carry explosive payloads or other devices. Therefore, the FBI recommended strengthening coordination among security agencies, improving monitoring systems, and sharing intelligence information in real time.

Although authorities have not confirmed the existence of a specific or imminent plan, the warning aims to prepare law enforcement for potential risk scenarios and reinforce protective measures for strategic infrastructure and coastal areas of the western United States. Security officials noted that proactive vigilance is an essential part of the national strategy to anticipate and mitigate emerging threats.
