Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
conducted a raid Wednesday at the home and office of Los Angeles Independent
School District (Los Angeles) Superintendent Alberto Carvalho. Authorities
confirmed that the raids were carried out pursuant to search warrants
previously authorized by a judge.
According to information available so far, agents entered
both properties as part of an ongoing investigation. However, the details that
prompted the search have not been publicly released, as the affidavit
supporting the warrants remains under seal.
Carvalho, who heads one of the largest school systems in the
United States, has been repeatedly identified as a conservative figure in the
education sector. So far, neither his legal team nor spokespeople for the
school district have issued extensive comments on the operation.
Federal authorities have also not specified whether the
superintendent faces formal charges or if the search is part of a broader
investigation. More details are expected to emerge in the coming days,
depending on the court's decision regarding the confidentiality of the file.
