Sources close to the US administration revealed that the
White House drafted the full text of the apology that Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu presented last week to the Qatari government.
According to these sources, the US president personally
ordered Netanyahu to make a phone call to Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed
Al-Thani from the Oval Office and read the pre-written apology word for word.
The message, prepared in coordination with Qatari representatives and White
House advisers, sought to repair recent diplomatic tensions between the two
countries.
During the conversation, senior Qatari diplomat Ali
Al-Thawadi was present to verify that the Israeli leader strictly adhered to
the version approved by Washington. The unusual intervention by the White House
underscores the level of diplomatic control and pressure exerted by the United
States in managing relations between Israel and Qatar, at a time of heightened
political sensitivity in the Middle East.
