FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that the agency is
"very close" to identifying the leadership structure and funding sources
of anarchist organizations that, according to ongoing investigations, are
linked to riots and acts of violence reported in various US cities in recent
years.
In statements to Just the News, Patel explained that the FBI
has made significant progress in reconstructing the internal networks that
support groups like Antifa, a decentralized organization that has been the
subject of controversy for its involvement in street protests and clashes with
law enforcement. According to the official, federal agents have identified
communication channels, funding sources, and coordination mechanisms between
different activist groups, which could lead to new criminal charges.
Patel also announced that investigators detected potential
irregularities in the use of federal intelligence and public safety resources,
suggesting that certain officials or entities may have misused government tools
while tracking or monitoring these movements. Although she did not offer
specific details, she assured that the matter is under "strict internal
review" and that the FBI is working to determine the scope and
institutional responsibility for these acts.
Patel's statements come amid growing political polarization
around the role of Antifa and other social movements, especially following the
episodes of mass protests since 2020. While conservative sectors are calling
for a stronger response to what they consider "organized extremist
groups."
The FBI has not yet released an official report on the
preliminary findings, but Patel's statements point to a possible new phase of
investigation focused on dismantling logistical and financial support networks
behind the most radical protests in the country.
